Impmon has two partners, the twins Ai & Mako. Impmon loved them but hated their constant fighting He was convinced that they didn't want him so he decided to leave them. Because of them he hated humans. But seeing Guilmon, Terriermon, & even Renamon's bond with their partners, Impmon acted disgusted, but really he only wished he had that same bond with Ai & Mako. Impmon believed that digivolving on his own would separate his bond to his ex-partners but it only ended with him nearly getting killed. Feeling down after having to be saved by the tamers and their digimon, he goes back to th digital world and gets the power to digivolve. The catch to being a mega was to kill all the digidestined and their partners and he kills Jeri's partner, Leomon.
